COMPANY HISTORY

Uptown Ltee, a family affair.

Founded in 1949 by Marcel Bernard, Uptown Ltee first specialized in jack floor repairs. A pioneer in the field at the time, Mr. Bernard offered repair services that couldn’t be found elsewhere.

A few years later, in 1978, the company was bought by Marcel Bernard’s son, Jean Bernard, who saw great possibilities and had the will to expand Uptown’s service offering.

Jean Bernard pushed the company towards lifting systems of all kinds that would allow Uptown to collaborate on major projects, including a hydroelectric dam and the lifting of bridges and structures. Jean Bernard’s vision helped in modernizing the company and developing an expertise at the industrial level that is now recognized in the field.

Today, the company is now in the hands of Marcel’s grandson. This third generation has taken over the reins of the company and is once again updating it to stay abreast of technological advances and the evolution of the field. Uptown makes sure to diversify its products as well as its service offering.
